In Riga, on the late evening of Wednesday, March 5, the team of the animation film "Flow" was solemnly welcomed after returning from Los Angeles after the U.S. Academy Awards ceremony, were film won in the category "Best Animated Feature Film" and it is the first-ever "Oscar" for Latvia.

The welcome began already at Riga Airport, where after 22 PM two airBaltic aircrafts with the decoration of the Latvian flag arrived - the director Gints Zilbalodis and a team of film artists arrived in Riga at the same time, with flights from Helsinki and Munich. A red carpet was rolled out at the airfield; media journalists, relatives and representatives of the National Film Center of Latvia, and the producer Matīss Kaža, who had arrived in Riga the day before, greeted the team.
From the airport to the city center, the film team and media representatives were carried by a specially designated Rīgas Satiksme bus, which had "In one boat" written on the scoreboard. At the Freedom Monument, where hundreds of fans of the film had already gathered, short speeches were given by the head of the National Film Center of Latvia Dita Rietuma, director Gints Zilbalodis, producer Matīss Kaža and Ginta Zilbalodi’s first teacher in animation, director and animation teacher Dzintars Krūmiņš.
From March 7 to March 16, in the Latvian National Museum of Art anyone interested will be able to see the awards of the film – the European Film Academy Award, the Golden Globe Award and the Oscar.
